Adjustment layers

Very good basic adjustments tutorial for levels, but I would suggest doing adjustments on an Adjustment layer as this allows you to go back and make further adjustments and is non destructive to the original image.

A great refresher for me. Very clear and well presented. It's so simple but sometimes I forget and this has helped me - Especially the colour options. Cheers. Rik.

Nice, basic intro to levels Jon. I follow your tutorials every month. Q. Are there any rules on encroaching the black/white sliders into the histogram as I am not sure if this is a no no and should ONLY be brought in to the edges guided with the Alt key. Are there any exceptions? Good luck with this new venture. vincent
