I've just bought a Nikkor 105mm Macro so the video was really helpful and hopefully I will get some good shots. Just one question when using the rocking technique - does the VR stay switched on?? Thanks for the great tutorial.

For Chrischalloner. I find the 105VR Nikkor works well my D300. The VR is useful for shots of the type illustrated here. Bees on the dahlias are similar to flies as a photographic challenge and are much nicer. Spiders at this time of the year are plentiful and a lot easier provided there is no breeze. Dew on the web helps on a bright sunny morning. Price is relative. The 105 is low price relative to a 180. The 60 is less expensive but the short shooting distance scares the subject away and often make the subject difficult to light.
