Well, there have been no more comments on this topic, and hopefully james now understands that personal abuse was not appropriate.
Perhaps we can put this to rest by agreeing that it is a myth that 72ppi is required for web/screen viewing of images. The ppi value is completely irrelevant and can be anything, or indeed can be absent from the file. Let's hope that this myth will never be repeated again, either on this site or in the pages of Digital Photo, which in all other respects is an excellent magazine.

It's evident that you're here purely to cause trouble since this is your first post, and your member details are hidden. You've missed the point somewhat with your pedantic arguments so I'll respond to each individually.

1. Our videos are concise and packed only with the most relevant information. Discussing sRGB vs Adobe1998 isn't necessary when the video is intended to quickly show people how to prepare images for the web (and Photo answers gallery). Setting images to the sRGB profile is correct, and necessary for colours to display correctly.

2. The resolution of images should be set to an amount that provides good quality coupled with a fast transfer speed. You can indeed upload full size images to the web, but the main problems with this are the amount of time they'd take to download in browsers and the size they'd appear on screen. Setting images to 72 ppi provides both a fast transfer speed and good viewing quality. When images are displayed on the internet their pixel dimensions are used to determine the size they appear on screen. Screen resolution and size will also be factors.

3. Saving the EXIF data was one of the points of this video as you'll know from watching the video. 20kb of data makes no perceivable difference to transfer time. I refer you back to my second point.

Re size for web is simple, concise and very easy to follow, top marks for this and all the tips which other mags do not seem to bother with.

With out doubt Photo Answers leads the way in this field, not to mention the very instructive monthly video tutorials, yes I think the Mag has it's finger on the pulse when it comes to Digital photography and post work.
