When Photoshop CS3 was designed, Adobe decided to redevelop the way in which selection edges worked. All the tools that you need to control selection edges were appropriately grouped together into a new Refine Edge dialog box. The Refine Edge can also be found in Elements 6 and Elements 7 but it’s a slightly condensed version with three Refine sliders and two Preview Modes to choose from.
In this video, Michael Topham shows why you should use the Refine Edge command to refine the edges of your selections. This video also covers all the sliders and Preview Modes that you’ll find inside the Refine Edge Dialog Box.
