When you're out and about with you DSLR, it's inevitable that, with lens changes and general use, you eventually get some dust or dirt on your sensor. At best this causes an irritating imperfection, but at worst, it can spoil your images.
In this video, Darren Harbar demonstrates perhaps the most extensive sensor cleaning method you can carry out at home, the "wet" clean. For less stubborn sensor dirt, other so called "dry" cleaning methods can be employed, for more information, see our other video and be sure to pick up Practical Photography February, where starting on page 96, our comprehensive camera care feature shows you how to best care for your investment.
Warning: In this video, Darren demonstrates general sensor cleaning techniques, some of which vary dependant on the type of camera and cleaning equipment you have. Always observe the instructions included with your cleaning kit to avoid damage to your equipment. If you are in any doubt, always contact the relevant manfacturer or a specialist.
