All were taken at f/16 and an ISO 100. The upright shot had a shutter speed of 0.3sec, the wide-angle pre-sunset was 0.4sec, but the wide angle cooler post-sunset was a whole 8 seconds.

You're never too old to learn!  Last year purchased Nikon D60 and have been learning with Photoanswers ever since. Just happened to have camera in the car passing a local lake with lots of birds (feathered variety) in all sorts of action. Thought CAKE!  Composition was too try and get our feathered friends in action, angle was quite difficult as only a narrow ledge between 30mph busy road and 6'+ of water!  Kit, went out with 70-300 lens on board. Tried a few aperture priority shots to blur background some good results. Then spotted inbound arrival.... quick change to auto settings ,(cheated!), continuous burst mode, and shot our feathered friend ( photographically speaking), panning, making a 'splash landing'. Exposure, 1/500, F5.6, Auto. Focal length 100mm, matrix metering. 

Thanks to photoanswers I was able to 'manage' the camera quickly, used some of the learnt skills and hopefully produced a half decent shot which is uploaded with the title' Splash Landing'.  See also 'No fishing and no fishing 1'....2 fun photo's...what happens when mum's not around!!!

I now seriously need to think about some editing software. Anyone recommend simple to use (after all I am getting on a bit), reasonably priced, widely  available editing suite.
