Photographing movement isn’t all about freezing subjects at high shutter speeds, it can also involve using blur as a creative tool. Movement can be captured by the two extremes of shutter speed and covers a wide range of subjects from landscape to sports.
In this video, Editor-in-Chief Andrew James, will show you how to use aperture priority mode to change the shutter speed and capture movement in flowing water. He'll show you how to blur and freeze subjects while maintaining an accurate exposure. Practice these techniques so you're ready to capture great shot when the conditions are right.
Don't forget you can read the accompanying article that contains much more valuable advice in the july issue of Practical Photography which is out on 17th june.
