Smoke has a hidden beauty that can only be unlocked with the help of photography. In this video, expert Gavin Hoey demonstrates a simple but effective way of capturing abstract smoke images using a single flashgun, mounted off-camera. This ‘strobist’ technique can be done indoors, so it’s a great one to try when it’s cold and dark outside. If you want to take your images further, then follow Gavin’s Photoshop lesson too. Here you’ll discover how to get your smoke photos looking bright and colourful.
