The first round of judging has been completed.
Entrants have been advised by email if their entry has successfully made it into the final shortlist, so please check your mailbox regularly to see whether you are a step closer to Antarctica. You can also check by clicking on the shortlist button on the left to see if your name is there. Details of what to do next are also explained.
The top prize for those aged 21 and over is an 18 day trip for two to Antarctica, aboard a Spirit of Adventure cruise ship. Each category winner (21 and over), plus partner, will go on a week long Spirit of Adventure cruise around the Canary Islands. For more details on Spirit of Adventure cruises please click here.
Youth category winners (under 21) will each win a day out on pro wildlife photographer Chris Weston’s photo workshops. For more details of these please click here.
You will be able to upload up to 10 images. That’s two in each of the five competition categories. However, you can just enter one image in one category if you wish. The number of images or categories you enter is entirely up to you to the maximum allowed. You will find more details on each of the categories you can enter at the bottom of this page. You must have signed into Photo answers before you can start uploading. The images you upload will be held in our galleries and are viewable by other users of Photo answers.
Friendly comments on the images are welcomed but anything deemed by us to go beyond fair and reasonable will be deleted and the person making those comments may have their membership of Photo answers terminated. If they have also entered the competition they also risk disqualification. Online comments will not be used in the judging process.
