Nikon’s first camera designed specifically for use by all the family – from children all the way up to their grandparents. Waterproof, shockproof and featuring large buttons and simple menus, the COOLPIX S30 is a camera that all the family can really get to grips with. Meanwhile, a 10-megapixel sensor, NIKKOR 3x optical zoom lens, 6.7 cm (2.7-in) high-resolution LCD screen, 720p video recording and fun in-camera filters mean children and adults can capture their world with a camera that really works.
Sturdy, simple and fun
The COOLPIX S30 is waterproof to depths of 3m and shockproof from heights of up to 0.8m, so you can be confident that all the family can enjoy taking pictures whatever the situation.
Designed to fit comfortably in small hands, the S30’s large one-touch buttons make it simple to take a photo or begin filming a crisp 720p video clip. The design reflects the way children handle technology, with a symmetrical layout that has a large shutter button on either side – one for still images and one for video – allowing intuitive operation of the camera. The raised lens and built-in flash is in the middle of the device to make sure fingertips don’t make it into shot.
The operating interface is simple, with a menu that uses bold, colourful icons for easy navigation. An automatic power-off feature ensures the camera turns off after three minutes of inactivity, conserving the energy of its AA batteries.
Superb image quality
The S30 is packed with the kind of imaging technology you would expect from a Nikon COOLPIX camera, so that pictures always impress. Automatic anti-blur technology, including e-VR (automatic vibration reduction) and motion detection, ensures sharp shots of even the fastest-moving friends.
The COOLPIX S30 comes in four colours: White, black, pink and blue.
