At £4000 for the body alone, it’s not a cheap piece of kit, but as you can see from our test samples, the D3S from Nikon takes noise handling on to another level. Even at ISO 6400, noise is well controlled, while the flexibility it offers of being able to shoot up to an ISO equivalent of 102,400 is going to appeal to a variety of professionals, including sports, paparazzi and social photographers.
