As the summer months begin to arrive and the weather gets hotter, why not pick up your camera and shoot off to one of WWT’s nine wetland centres. You never know, you could win a prize for entering the WWT Nikon Photography competition.
The photography competition is in its third year and is open to everyone, not just members. There are three separate categories: Photo of the Year, Junior Photo of the Year and Digiscoping Photo of the Year. Entries must be taken at a WWT Wetland Centre. Check www.wwt.org.uk for details of the centre closest to you.
Summer is an ideal time to capture the beauty of wetland wildlife. The days are longer, the weather is warmer, and the plants and wildlife are in full view. WWT’s nine wetland centres offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy all of these things, from the exotic birds in our captive collections to the huge number of species on our wild reserves.
And don’t forget the people – visitors are one of WWT’s greatest assets. It is truly inspirational to see their interaction with the wildlife. Why not try to capture that magic moment and go for one of the prizes up for grabs?
The national winner of the WWT Nikon Photo of the Year category will take home a Nikon D90 Digital SLR with zoom lens. The national winner of the junior WWT Nikon Photo of the Year will receive a COOLPIX P90 digital camera, whilst the national winner of the WWT Nikon Digiscoping Photo of the Year will win a Fieldscope ED 82mm. Regional winners in each category will win a pair of Nikon 8x25 Travelite EX binoculars and will become part of the national shortlist.
Closing date for entries Monday 7 September
