Well we’re sitting here in the airport watching the rain beat down on the desert outside while American stands still waiting to see who will win the Super Bowl (for those of you who don’t know, that’s the ‘world’ cup for American Football). So after an epic successions of meetings and press briefings we’re on our way home. Looking back over the last couple of days, it’s evident that the photo industry is set for a another excellent year but more importantly, there’s plenty of new toys for us to spend our hard-earned cash on. For compact users, cameras are becoming far more intelligent to make taking pictures much easier and you‘ll have a lovely selection of colours to choose from with pink and purple being the season‘s essential choice. For the D-SLR user, we can expect to get ever better results from the advances being made in sensors and image processors. In particular, we expect to see the manufacturers start to break apart from each other and put their own stamp on their particular brand of colours and tonal qualities. But the big news is that full frame is being accepted by all the manufacturers so finally those who don’t use Canon kit will be able to get involved too. Right, the airline tanoy is playing our song, it’s time to board. Peterborough here we come!
