Compassionate care charity announces Annual Art & Photography Exhibition

Now in its fifth year Sue Ryder Care’s nationwide annual art competition, Art Liberating Lives is open and delighted to announce the entry call for submissions.

The event offers artists of all abilities the chance to exhibit work at London’s prestigious Mall Galleries. Art Liberating Lives celebrates the power of art as a form of therapy, expression and liberation.

Artists are invited to submit work in all media created around the theme ‘liberation’. Selected artworks, chosen by a panel of judges that includes Elizabeth Meek, Susan Ryder and Simon Thornley will be shown in an exclusive December exhibition.

Founder and former board director of Getty images, Simon Thornley has an extensive career spanning over 25 years in the photography world, Simon is also a keen collector of photography and has consulted at the Michael Hoppen Gallery, The Photo Library – Australia and Oxford Scientific Films to name just a few.

Simon said "I’m delighted to be involved in Sue Ryder Care’s Art Liberating Lives event, and looking forward to seeing work that is submitted on such a challenging and creative theme. I would encourage everybody with an interest in art and photography to grab their camera and use their talents to create a piece of art supporting Sue Ryder Care’s vital efforts whilst having fun and exploring such a liberating theme".

Money raised from Art Liberating Lives will help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver quality care for people living with end of life and long-term conditions including; Cancer, Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease.

To take part, submit a high quality digital photograph (JPEG) of your artwork along with a completed application form online at www.suerydercare.org. The exhibition will take place at the Mall Galleries, London from 16th -20th December, 10am-5pm daily.
