This Vanguard VS-34 mini tabletop tripod comes in a classy matt black finish and has been designed for both digital compacts and lightweight D-SLRs with its 1/4inch tripod thread. It comes fitted with a ball head offering universal movement for both landscape and portrait shooting. This can be easily manoeuvered by pushing a small button at the base of the tripod and swivelling the legs round so they’re all in line, making it easier to fit in your bag.

We found this compact tripod particularly useful for small tabletop still-life subjects. It’s rigid and sturdy and the legs give a reassuring click as they lock into place. The ball head is effective and can be locked off to the desired position with the locking screw. Weighing in at 0.9lbs makes it around 0.6lbs heavier than alternative tabletop tripods on the market, but this strong, well-built structure helps increase the stability.

Overall, a handy camera accessory that offers good stability for its size at a reasonable price.
