Somerset Enhanced Velvet paper is manufactured from 100% cotton, is acid-free and is buffered with calcium carbonate compound to prevent damage from chemicals in the atmosphere.
Weighing in at 225gsm, it's a nice bright paper and inside the neatly presented box the paper ias well protected in a cellophane wrap with an A5 information its the textured cousin (Somerset Enhanced Texture), although the texture appears to be more spread out and the more you look at it, the more noticeable it becomes. The ICC profile took a matter of seconds to download and install and with our media set to Velvet Fine Art in the printer settings we were ready to churn out our test prints. Sharpness was excellent around the edges and given a choice we’d happily choose the Velvet over the Textured for its more pleasing finish. A box of 25 sheets (A3+) can be bought for £60, which works out at £2.38 per sheet.
