The Olympus FL-36 is one if the smallest flashguns in the sub £200 price range, but it’s still feature-packed for Olympus D-SLR users.

The Olympus FL-36 is a lightweight flashgun, partly due to the fact it is powered by only 2x AA batteries. While you don’t get as many flashes per set of batteries, recycling time is still fast thanks to its energy saving circuitry.

A clearly laid out back panel gives easy access to  the settings and modes,  including TL Auto, Auto, Manual and Super FP Mode. The head tilts and swivels giving you some direction over the acceptable GN36 power output.

The flashgun is a cheaper alternative to the FL-50, its coverage isn’t the best but if you just want a reasonably priced flashgun then it is ideal for you.

At such an affordable cost you get a very good flash unit. Versatile enough for most situations, it must be regarded as great value

Def a good buy for the casual user. Also has FP mode so can sync with faster shutter speeds which is good for fill in.
