Nikon SB-600 Speedlight

Nikon boasts four flashguns in its range with the SB-600 Speedlight sitting above its entry-level SB-400.

The Nikon SB-600 Speedlight sports a light and compact, but solid build that’s great for portability. The head’s bounce and swivel action has a reasurring click as it locks into each position and the foot is metal, so it’ll be durable. The head zooms from a wide 24mm but only stretches to 85mm and though there’s a wide-angle diffuser and AF assist beam, there’s no fill-in reflector.
The SB-600 Speedlight can be used wirelessly with Nikon’s Creative Lighting System but accessing the feature is fiddly as you need to press a combination of buttons. Performance-wise, its listed GN30 makes it a little weak compared to some other flashuns but our results at full power gave us GN27, making it one of the more accurate Guide Numbers we tested. Recycle times were also quick at just 4secs for a full charge output.
