Primarily available from online auction sites in sizes from 22-86mm, Massa filters offer the hobbyist or beginner photographer an inexpensive option to dip their toes into the world of filters. On sale for a fixed price of between £4 and £7 plus postage, this circular polarising filter is available in such a huge range of sizes that it almost seems too good to be true.
As might be expected, build-quality isn’t the highest – the threads aren’t as smooth as they could be, so take care with installation. In use, however, reflections are cut out, skies are deepened and contrast is generally boosted – which is exactly what you want from a polarising filter.
