Why is it essential? Using flashguns to illuminate a subject at close quarters can be fiddly work, but Manfrotto’s 330B Macro Flash Bracket aims to solve this perennial problem.
Key features: Made from robust aluminium, the body consists of a central plate with an integrated 3/8in thread for securing your camera in place. The central body plate can also be tilted upwards to allow vertical shooting.
Ease of use: The bracket is either screwed directly to the top of your tripod, or to a tripod head using a choice of 3/8in or 1/4in threads on the base. Flashguns (and their triggers) can then be attached to a set of moveable peripheral arms using the cold-shoe ports.
Price: This macro bracket will set you back a reasonable £54.95, providing good value for money.
Summary: If you often use flashguns as a means of lighting macro subjects, this is a great solution to keep multiple flash units in check.
