Manfrotto 190XPROB

Manfrotto 190XPROB

£95.00

The Manfrotto 190XPROB has a robust build and solid construction, all packed into a well-made frame that’s reasonably light for carrying around.

Two of the legs on the Manfrotto 190XPROB include padded leg warmers, and there’s a built-in bubble spirit level, too. If height is important to you though, the max reach of 146cm may put you off.
The real trump card is the cleverly designed centre column mechanism, however. Hit the button at the bottom of the column and it can be changed from a vertical to horizontal position easily without the need to remove the head. There’s an extremely smooth leg action, too; loosen the flip-locks and the legs slide out quickly taking a speedy 15secs to set up. Despite this smooth action, once the flip-locks are tightened the tripod is rigid and doesn’t slip under pressure. While the centre column can’t be shortened, it does reverse and combined with its horizontal position and the ability to angle the legs, you can shoot from a very low angle.
The £95 price tag doesn’t include a head, and although this will bump up the cost, it does allow you to pick one that suits your photographic needs.

This tripod and basic pan and tilt head is a superb combination. I echo everything that has been said here and think that this should be a consideration for any phtoographer who wants a decent tripod that isn't going to thoroughly break the bank.

Just bought this tripod along with the Manfrotto 804RC2 Basic Pan & Tilt Head with Quick Release Plate. This tripod is solid as a rock. I moved up from a vanguard digi 5. The horizontal option from the centre column is great, very flexible. I would definitely recommend this one. 5 Stars!!

Flexible and solid configuration in vertical, not quite rock solid in horizontal layout. Lighter than many but you still might not want to carry it up a mountain. Think about a carbon fibre version (CX) if carrying. Otherwise sound and dependable friend.
