Finished in jet black, the Stealth Reporter D400 AW camera bag from Lowepro has an understated look as its name suggests. The finish is excellent with a very durable feel; the bag is designed to withstand the rigours of heavy use. There are no feet, but it does offer lots of padding – more than enough to protect your gear from knocks. An integral raincover is also included.
The D400 AW swallowed all our standard kit with room to spare, leaving space for an extra lens or two. There’s also a handy card wallet and four external pockets to accommodate extra kit such as filters, cables, and spare batteries.
The press-top (top opening) on the D400 AW makes for easy access to your kit, with a weather-sealed zip. The non-slip strap is the best we’ve seen – it’s extremely well-padded, making it comfortable to use for long periods.
It’s hard to fault the D400 AW – the finish is great, with plenty of protective padding, and the integral raincover is a nice addition. There’s plenty of space – even for those who like to haul a ton of kit around. Out in the field, it’s fast to use, thanks to the quick-access press-top, and the well-padded strap offers plenty of comfort. All this for £90? Bargain!
