The Lowepro Inverse 100 AW is by no means the largest shoulder bag available and on first glance looks relatively compact but pull open the quick access top and the internal space looks rather impressive. The Lowepro Inverse 100 AW offers two adjustable internal dividers that can be repositioned to protect your equipment and on the inside of the quick access top are two well-padded compartments capable of holding a couple of CF cards each.
We filled the Inverse with our test gear, which comprised a large-sized D-SLR with 24-105mm lens and a 70-200mm telephoto zoom. Both of these pieces of kit fitted easily into the bag and there was even room at one end for extra accessories like filters or additional batteries.
We tested the bag out for comfort on location and used it first as a typical shoulder bag. It was comfortable on the shoulder throughout the trip and the generous padding on the shoulder strap prevented it digging in. We then rapidly pulled the bag into the waist position and belted it up tight. This offered even greater stability and it could easily be swung around the waist. The elements cover is tucked away beneath the bag for extra protection when you need it most.
This is an impressive shoulder/waist bag that offers great comfort, reasonable space for a day trip and plenty of ventilation from perspiration. If you think a camera and a couple of lenses isn’t a big enough capacity for you then try the Lowepro Inverse 100 AW’s bigger brother, the Inverse 200 AW.
