Lenspimp lens hire

We assess Lenspimp by renting a pro-spec lens from the company.

LensPimp lets you order your lens hire online. The layout of the website is clear and uncomplicated and there’s the option of refining your search by the type of lens you want to hire, with Canon, Nikon and Sigma lenses to choose from. The 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM was located quickly and there was a clear overview and technical specification. Hire plans span from 3 to 28 days and the wide-angle zoom was available when we needed it, so we chose a 7-day hire and added insurance (£6.13) and a next day delivery and return shipping plan (£23.81) to the hire price, totalling £82.93. If you opt for insurance cover rather than a full deposit for the lens, this will cover accidental damage, but a £150 excess will have to be paid if a claim is made.
    The wide-angle zoom arrived on time and came in a cardboard box surrounded by bubble wrap. The lens was in immaculate condition and the front element was protected with a UV filter. The lens performed as it should and we received a follow-up call the day before collection. The lens was packaged in the supplied CityLink bag and was returned using the courier that LensPimp had arranged.
