Lastolite's TriGrip/TriFlip reflector ranges are designed for photographers working alone without an assistant. This latest design, the TriFlip 8:1 (eight-in-one) reflector can really make a difference to your photography. It comes supplied with seven different reflective covers to give you a choice of different fill-in effects; without a cover it can also be used as a basic diffuser for your light source.

The best part of this ingenious design is that the handle allows you to hold it yourself with the minimum of fuss (see photo). It fits neatly in the laptop slot of a rucksack so it’s always to hand. It takes a little practice to hold the reflector in one hand and then frame up and focus with the camera in the other (especially if there’s a bit of a gale blowing at the time).
And if you do have the luxury of an assistant? The handgrip makes it easier for them to use two reflectors, so it’s much easier to sculpt the light more precisely.
