Ilford Galerie Smooth Lustre Duo

Ilford’s Galerie Smooth Lustre Duo is a specially formed double-sided media designed for inkjet printers, and can be used with dye and pigment inks.

Weighing 280g per square metre (GSM), the double-sided quality of the Ilford Galerie Smooth Lustre Duo offers more flexibility than conventional one-sided media and would make a great choice for people who like to create their own invitations, flyers and prints for photo albums or portfolios.
    Inside our test box, we found an instruction sheet offering advice and tips on how to get the most out of the paper. We loaded a sheet into our Epson R2880 printer and selected the Lustre media type. The first print came out slightly tacky so we gave it 15mins before loading the sheet again, ready to print on the opposite side. Our print was perfectly flat from the printer and showed no signs of ink bleeding. A close inspection of colour and mono prints showed how well the media handled the definition between shadows, midtones and highlights. Only when the prints were held up to the light could we notice darker tones on the opposite side showing through. 
Available in A4, A3, A3+ and 12x12 packs, it’s a superbly priced paper, that allows you to create 50 double-sided A4 prints from a 25-sheet pack, for £17.
