There are a number of remote releases that you can buy for your DSLR. Some are electronic cable releases, whereas others like this Hama product are wireless. This example is the RS-60 E3, which works with most consumer Canon models and also the Samsung and Pentax DSLRs. The receiver plugs directly into the DSLR body and is powered by two AAA batteries (supplied). The transmitter takes just the one 23A alkaline battery (also supplied). With a range up to 30 metres, the release works efficiently and you can set different channels to avoid conflicting signals.
