Hahnemühle’s Sugar Cane Fine Art paper is manufactured from two materials; primarily bagasse fibre, a by-product of raw sugar production, and 25% cotton, which comes from Hahnemühle’s recycling of paper waste.

Hahnemühle’s Sugar Cane Fine Art paper eco-friendly stock weighs 300gsm and, importantly, it’s acid-free, which makes it resistant to ageing over time.
In the box, the 20 A3+ sheets were neatly packaged and protected in thick cellophane and the instructions recommended how to handle and print. First impressions of the paper’s thickness and texture were good.
Downloading the ICC profile was uncomplicated, but there’s a long list of profiles, so it’s worth double-checking you’ve got the right one. With images loaded up and the correct profile selected, we rolled off our test prints. Interestingly, the colour tones were slightly more saturated than other papers we tested and the detail in the shadows was overly well handled. Under scrutiny we also found a subtle repeating pattern of horizontal lines in the texture, and this was evident up close in the lighter tones. At £44.99 for 20 sheets, it’s equivalent to £2.25 a sheet, so is reasonably priced.
