Available in four sizes (S, M, L, XL), the Intuos 4 is the latest graphics tablet to hit Wacom’s pro range. Its new slimline appearance, sloping palm rest and full black appearance give it a desirable look, but it’s the new features and functions that’ll tempt most tablet users into an upgrade. The Intuos 4 offers brush and pen control like never before thanks to its 2048 new levels of pressure sensitivity, however it’s the multi-functional speed ring that’s the most valuable new feature to use. Found in-between the eight new illuminated express keys, the speed ring allows you to zoom in, switch between layers and control brush sizes instantly. Setting up the express keys takes a few seconds but be sure to set the radial menu as one of them. This gives you access to email, music and the web at the touch of a button.  Elsewhere there’s a useful pen stand that holds ten alternative nibs and, depending whether you’re left or right-handed, spin the tablet 180 degrees to take full advantage of its ambidextrous design. The Intuos 4 makes a superb buy for frequent Photoshop users but be prepared to save up for its high price.
