Waterproof housings are generally very expensive items, especially when it comes to DSLRs. Protecting such a large camera from water is no easy task, and you really need to be confident in the product if you are going to put your valued DSLR under water! This is not a product that you can take deep sea diving, as it is limited to 5m. The design allows you to use a variety of lenses (not long zooms), as the front of the case can extend and retract. Once your DSLR is inside, a waterproof zip and two Velcro seals are used to give the case its seal against water. The front of the housing has a glass UV removable lens that ensures a clean viewing window for your camera to shoot through. There are finger pockets that give access to the shutter button, and two around the lens allow you to zoom and hold the lens barrel. The fitting around the barrel is quite loose, and the housing can drift into view, resulting in vignetting. We found that a piece of foam from the box packaging proved useful here, and resolved the problem.
