Crumpler Pony Box

Crumpler is known for producing bags with an emphasis on style and the Pony Box backpack is certainly no exception.

The Crumpler Pony Box features a contemporary look and is constructed using a waterproof ripstop lining to prevent inclement weather reaching your kit. And if that isn’t enough, there’s a removable raincover in one of the two external front pockets, too.
The bag has two access points to the main compartment. The one at the rear is the best entry point to all your gear, but the shoulder straps do get in the way now and again, so you’ll need to get used to folding them out the way first. There are plenty of internal pockets for accessories and a convenient space for carrying a 12in laptop, however we were slightly disappointed by the amount of space allocated for carrying lenses. Re-arranging the vast amount of internal padding, we fitted our D-SLR and smaller lenses, but struggled to fit in a 100-400mm telephoto zoom, which eventually had to be left out. The ventilated padding did make it comfy to carry, the sternum strap offering extra stability on the move, but we would have liked a waist strap, too.
In build terms, Crumpler has maintained its high level of stitching and the materials that have been used feel durable and long lasting – all for a £110 price tag.
