The Match Maker sports a very modern, minimalist look in keeping with the Crumpler range. It’s well-made and available in a choice of colour combinations. Rather than getting to your kit at the front of the bag, this opens at the rear instead. This is great, as placing it on mucky ground doesn’t transfer the grime to your back when you put the pack back on, but the design of the straps means they have to be folded backwards to open it up fully and this can become irritating over time.
Our gear fitted in easily with two compartments to spare, and there’s even a padded laptop section, too. But access to certain areas is slow once it’s all packed – especially the space for the D-SLR. On your back, the bag fits well and is comfortable, though it would be nice to see non-slip fabric on the underside of the shoulder straps
