Offering a very intuitive interface, Blurb was off to a good start. We were impressed by the large square imagewrap photobook we received, too. Paper edges were cleanly cut, presentation was neat and the hardcover has a lovely semi-matte finish with nice saturation and reduced glare when viewing on your shelf or coffee table. The book was slightly let down by the endpaper as it wasn’t quite parallel to the edge of the book and showed some of the white paper beneath in places.
Print quality was a little dark and just started losing detail in the shadow areas, but was otherwise of very high standard with punchy colours backed up by crisp and clear images and text. Priced at just £41.95 for 21-40 pages, Blurb offers superb value for money and a very professional product.
Interface
You can choose from an online interface, downloadable software or PDF upload – all are straightforward meaning we had our book ready in no time at all. There’s a tip system to help out and the interface allowed us to start work on our book while uploading. Based on a drag-and-drop system, there’s a wide selection of layouts, an auto layout function and 17 fonts on offer.
