One of the limitations with a kit lens is that you don’t have a great focal length range, especially at the telephoto end of the scale. This Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 is not only small and light but also has an impressive optical stabiliser built-in (Canon and Nikon fits). This is a very nice lens for £300 and allows you to travel light in the knowledge that you will be capturing quality images through the low dispersion glass. There is some minor evidence of flare and ghosting but nothing that should concern you for the price.
