Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition II

The Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition II has been built with a dual drive offering an impressive 2TB capacity.

The dual drives in the Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition II can be configured to RAID 0 that uses the whole 2TB or RAID 1 which halves the capacity to 1TB but mirrors all the data across the drives. The advantage of doing this is that you’ll be safe and backed up should one drive fail.
 It sports a modern-looking design but the exterior casing is plastic which lets it down slightly and cheapens the feel. The drive sports four rubber feet to prevent it moving on your desk, and its boxy shape means you’ll find room for it anywhere. A useful feature is the light panel on the front that clearly indicates the remaining capacity on the disk.
The drive offers four interfaces, USB 2.0, eSATA and Firewire 400 & 800. The copy speed took 1 min 15 secs to copy 1GB of data, and 15 secs to open the 200MB file in CS3.
