PHOTOMATIX PRO V3.0 is a great HDR solution – although you do pay for it!Photomatix Pro v3.0 is the quite an expensive standalone solution and offers HDR Generation, Exposure Blending for more natural results, and Batch Processing. During HDR Generation, images can be aligned, ghosting artefacts can be removed, and there’s the option to adjust the white balance of RAW files, too. The Tone Mapping interface has the greatest set of features tested with sliders for global and local contrast control, as well as adjustments for luminosity, and the ability to determine the saturation and smoothing of highlights or shadows independently of each other. Overall performance is excellent too, with previews refreshing quickly, and in total taking less than a minute to process a tone-mapped HDR from large RAW files. Results are also impressive, producing the best enhanced local details to create that hyper-real HDR finish, but if you’re after a more subtle look then you can achieve that, too.
