The Maxtor OneTouch III is a bit of a monster. Constructed to a high standard, it feels very solid when handled. The OneTouch III can sit either horizontally or with its wide base, vertically to reduce space on your desk.
There are a couple of options for automatic back-up of your data, but it’s probably best to treat it as a standard drive, and it’s formatted to NTFS for PC users so Mac users will need to reformat.
Hook it up to your computer via USB 2.0 connection (a dual connection model is also available with FireWire 400) and you’re up and running. Copy speeds were good at 41secs for 1GB and the OneTouch III was quick at opening up a 200Mb file, at only 8secs.
