LayerSpace has three different sized packages to suit your needs. The Base package from LayerSpace allows you to upload 96 images and the Standard and Standard+ options allow you to upload 192 and 384 images respectively. If you need to protect the galleries on your website, passwords can be added for an extra £2.50 a month, and there’s a Lightbox option (£5 per month), making it easier for people to view and select images they’d like to purchase. Signing up to a 14-day free trial was relatively clear-cut and to design the site you’ll need to click on Jump to Menu. The amount of templates on offer depends on the package you decide to go for; there were six templates to choose from in the Base package and two of these consisted of a flash based design, but we went for the HTML One W [W] template. There’s a good assortment of 11 fonts for text and the homepage image can be set to random in the homepage options. Uploading images onto the site was extremely quick, thanks to the multiple image uploader, and you can drag and drop images in the order you’d like them to appear. The interface is very easy to get to grips with as it’s clear and simple, and there are useful help notes so you know how the options affect your site. The cheapest Base package costs £120 a year, and there’s a £25 sign-up fee on top. You’ll also need to purchase a domain name as this isn’t included.
