LaCie MosKeyto USB Flash Drive

A great alternative for those who want to travel light is a USB flash drive and they don’t come much smaller than the LaCie MosKeyto USB Flash Drive.

While a mobile hard drive offers an excellent means of transporting data around, they can be a rather bulky storage solution if you’re only dealing with small volumes of data. With dimensions akin to a small-sized lego brick, the LaCie MosKeyto USB Flash Drive measures 19mm at its longest point and sticks out just 6mm when plugged into a USB port. This is ideal for transporting laptops around as the drive doesn’t have to be ejected each time you put it in your laptop bag. Such diminutive dimensions mean it can’t bend, or even worse, snap off like conventional USB flash drives can.
Featuring a 480 Mbits/sec transfer rate we tested the MosKeyto’s write speed by dragging 1GB’s worth of RAW files onto it. This took a total of 5mins 14seconds and loading a 200MB image into Photoshop took 12 seconds. There’s no LED to indicate when it’s working, but we had no problems with it mounting and showing up on both a PC and a Mac. A keyring strap is included and is designed to prevent you losing the cap.
