LaCie has called on the design house F.A. Porsche to arrive at this slick piece of technology. Its subtle finish means it’ll sit unobtrusively on your desk, with only the words Design by F.A. Porsche and LaCie embossed on the side of the drive.

Though sitting at the cheaper end of the price bracket, it doesn’t reflect this in the build quality, with the metal casing providing a very solid, durable feel to the product.

Once plugged in and hooked up, you’re away as it’s formatted to FAT 32 – suiting both PC and Mac users. Copy speeds for the F.A. Porsche are fast, taking only 38secs to copy 1GB of data from the computer’s C drive via USB 2.0. Retrieving a 200MB file from the external drive took only 9secs, Overall, a very strong performance from the LaCie F.A. Porsche.

Looks good & works quietly! I use it with apples backup software & cant remember if it came with any backup software (like many other hdd do). Always mounts correctly and havent had any over heating or noisey fan issues.

A fantastic hard drive!

Lacie have produced a superb hard drive with this model. It has been used as my main hard drive for a couple of years, with no problems or issues. I am a confident user of Lacie drives and also own the Rugged portable. For anyone out there considering a Lacie, they are money well spent.
