The LaCie Brick may look slightly quirky, but it does the job! With a choice of colours depending on the drives size – 160GB, 250GB, 320GB and 500GB, there should be a drive to suit everyone’s needs.

Sitting on your desk, the LaCie Brick looks like a Duplo Lego block that’s put on an enormous growth spurt. Depending on the storage size of the drive you choose, each is finished in a different colour - 160GB (white), 250GB (red), 320GB (blue) and 500GB (red).

The nice feature with the Brick is that if you have more than one, then they can easily be stacked, fitting neatly on top of one another. Though it’s undeniably quirky in its design the drive is also very well made, with a solid protective casing.

Using FAT 32 means compatibility isn’t a problem, and the copy speed was fast at 40secs for a 1GB folder. The 200MB TIFF opened swiftly too, at just 9secs, and all this comes at a reasonable price of £110

I have had a 250Gb version (silver) since they came out 4 years ago. Very impressed, quiet and reliable.
