The LG L246WH is a good-looking monitor with a thin, matte black frame bordering the screen and a slick uncluttered finish thanks to the control buttons being located on its underside. The stand, however, has a glossy black finish, which is not really in-keeping with the frame and although all the adjustments have a smooth action, connection with the monitor feels a touch flimsy. The LG L246WH features a high 2000:1 contrast ratio, inputs for HDMI and USB, and will allow you to use a non-wide 4:3 aspect ratio without distorting the image.
Display performance and colour accuracy were spot-on during Digital Photo’s October 2008 test, but there’s no DVI cable so we connected via an adapter. Results were impressive on the L246WH however, with an excellent performance across our test images and superb levels of detail being rendered in both the highlight and shadow areas.
