Why is it essential? Keeping your screen clean is an often overlooked aspect of the digital darkroom. Specks of dirt and dust on your monitor can easily be mistaken for sensor dirt when cleaning your images and it can be frustrating trying to ascertain which bits to clone out and which bits are on your monitor! The answer? LCD cleaning fluid.

Key features: This fluid comes as a spray instead of disposable wipes, which saves on waste and avoids the problem of wipes drying out before you’ve had a chance to use them. The gel consistency is designed not to run down your monitor and the microfibre cleaning cloth provided is machine washable, meaning you can keep it clean instead of having to replace it every few months. Located within the lid is a handy section to store the cloth, too.

Cost: This won’t break the bank at £5 and is well worth every penny.

Conclusion: Can be used on a range of products, not just your computer screen, but any LCD or plasma screen. The anti-run gel really does help avoid making a mess and ensures an even coverage as you wipe across your screen. The only drawback is that you need to use it on a cold screen so you can’t spray it onto your monitor while you’re working.
