The EasyHDR pro v1.60.3 HDR software was rather disappointing when tested by Digital Photo…EasyHDR PRO v1.60.3 uses 3 tabs, Generate, Tone Map and Process, which intuitively take you through the HDR process. The Generate tab offers auto and manual alignment, as well as 3 generation methods – True HDR (this creates an image for Tone Mapping), Smart Merge (a pseudo HDR algorithm giving fewer options) and Image Stacking (which creates a blended result rather than a true HDR image). The Tone Map tab allows manipulation of the tone curve, localised and global adjustments, the setting of black and white points, and a highlight or shadow clipping warning that refreshes quickly. The Process tab includes sharpening, colour adjustment and shadow/highlight control.
Results are good using the True HDR or Smart Merge options, although we had less success with Image Stack. Performance is disappointing though, taking 5 minutes to merge and create HDR from RAW, although enabling Image Reduction (a lower-quality preview) sped things up.
