The extra coverage of 28mm over 35mm can be really useful, especially if you take a lot of landscapes or group shots. It also incorporates Panasonic’s MEGA O.I.S. anti-shake system too, with two modes – constant or only active when the shutter is depressed. Along with the scene modes, there is a new Intelligent Auto mode, picking the required scene mode, MEGA O.I.S. setting, Intelligent ISO Control and Face Detection (if needed), leaving you to worry solely about the composition, but there are no manual modes. At the rear is a 3in screen – one of the largest you can get on a compact – while the various modes and menus are easy to navigate and both AF and MEGA O.I.S. worked well. Images are some of the best we’ve soon from a stylish compact too.
