On page 82 of Digital Photo’s June issue you’ll find a thorough review of Nikon’s latest D-SLR to date, the D5100.
Featuring a similar 16.2Mp APS-C sensor to the one we’ve previously seen in the D7000, the D5100 adopts a 3in Vari-angle screen to aid composition and playback from low or high angles. As well as a series of new special effects that can be accessed from the mode dial, this mid-level D-SLR from Nikon offers an impressive set of features to tempt first time D-SLR buyer’s into making a purchase. It also makes a tempting body for anyone who is perhaps looking for a second back-up body or fancies a D-SLR that features an inbuilt microphone for HD video recording – one of the few things Nikon’s D3100 doesn’t offer.
Over the four pages of the review in the magazine we look at how the D5100 has been developed from its predecessor, the D5000, before outlining all the latest features and the quality of the build. Performance and handling are also accessed in great depth before we make out final verdict, based on all the rating criteria, including value for money.
Digital Photo’s June issue is on the shelves now so make sure you pick up your copy if you fancy a more in depth read. If you’d just like to take a closer look at the quality of the images it produces, try clicking on some of the image quality links below.
