The Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP is a very compact model and comfortably fits in your hand (or pocket!) with ease. The design of the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP is fresh with a smooth contoured finish and, as well as the green finish, is available in gold, pink, black and blue. It could easily be mistaken for a standard compact, and not one that can be used at a depth of 3m. Although the maximum working depth of 3m isn’t as impressive as some, it’s realistic for most people and although it’s waterproof, it’s not shockproof. It isn’t intended for heavy-duty use, and this is reflected in the price. There is a tailor-made silicone jacket available at an additional £15 for added protection against not only drops, but scratches too. Inside the little Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP is a 10Mp sensor and 3x optical zoom with a conservative 35-105mm. The available ISO ranges from 64-1600, while the Z33WP relies only on an ISO boost as its anti-shake system when the anti-blur mode is selected. There are another 19 scene modes on offer, including an underwater mode and Scene Recognition, automatically selecting the correct scene mode.
The Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP has a very simple layout at the rear – there are just two columns of 5 buttons laid out to keep the 2.7in screen company. These have a really nice rubberised, moulded feel to them – great for when you’re in the water, while the menu is simple and easy to set up.
