The Fujifilm Z20fd compact offers 10MP with a wide array of shooting modes and it comes in five different colours to suit your own style. The image quality was impressive and is backed up with a classy modern slim line design.

This FinePix Z20fd from Fujifilm features a 10Mp sensor along with a 3x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 35-105mm and there’s a wide range of scene modes to choose from (19 in all). Turning the camera around shows off the 2.5in TFT LCD screen with large buttons just to the right of the screen that are substantial for both large and small fingers. To switch the Z20fd on, you simply slide the lens cover across and gives the lens and flash added protection from knocks and scratches.

The Z20fd has a slim line design that’s just 18.8mm thick, so you’re going to have no worries of getting this model into your pocket and it’s available in 5 different colours but the black would be number one choice. For such a small compact it fits perfectly in the hand when your shooting, and it’s possible to operate the camera with just one hand if your other is occupied. The zoom button has been positioned on the back of the camera alongside the face detection and play buttons leaving room on the top plate for a movie button. This MPEG-4 Movie button sits alongside the shutter button and is extremely handy for those times when you want to access video mode quickly and will save you a few seconds searching through those menu options. The 3x optical zoom lens operates at a moderate speed from wide angle to telephoto but works smoothly and convincingly through the range. We were very impressed with the image quality on the Z20fd, testing the ISO proved that you could work up to ISO 800 with confidence. The image results from the lower 64 &100 ISO’s also gave very sharp clear images at 100%.

If you’re looking for a very stylish compact camera (available in a 5 striking colours) that will offer a reliable performance and strong image quality for a very reasonable outlay, then the Z20fd easily makes the grade. A great pocket compact.
