Fujifilm FinePix JX200

The Fujifilm FinePix JX200 sports a relatively sleek, simple design with a nice metal band running round the top and the side of the camera.

There’s an impressive 5x optical zoom on the FinePix JX200, with a decent range from 28-140mm, allowing you to squeeze quite a bit into the frame at 28mm. Resolution is at 12.2Mp with a standard ISO range from 100-1600, while it can be expanded to 3200. At this rating, the resolution is forced down to 3Mp. There’s a Panoramic Shooting mode, but unlike some more advanced systems, you’re required to take three consecutive shots, which will then be stitched together.
The rear 2.7in screen lacks clarity and the AF is also rather slow, though it does lock-on. The Panoramic mode is a bit fiddly to use, but it does work once you’ve captured your images and the camera stitches them together. The Mode dial and menu are straightforward, with some settings clearly annotated to assist novice users.
