Venue information
The amazing views of Traeth Llyfn start on the cliff-top path on the way to the bay itself. But unlike many similar bays in the area there's a handy, if slightly precarious, set of steps giving access right down to the shore. Once you've negotiated the steps the character and potential of the bay depend a little on the state of the tides. At high tide the rocky outcrops make it a little difficult to get away from the area just beneath the steps. This area is rocky and is still full of potential viewpoints, though, so this shouldn't prevent you visiting in these conditions. At low tide you can access the whole bay, and the wide sandy beaches reveal themselves. These are dotted with a range of rocks that make excellent foreground details. These range from a foot or two across to huge fin-like structures stretching out towards the sea.
Venue Verdict: Spectacular views from both the cliff-tops and the beach, this bay is almost tailor-made for landscape photography.
